Myrna’s Platform

  • Oregon’s land use system is one of the most successful environmental policies in the country. It protects our farms, forests, and natural landscapes while guiding smart, responsible growth. But today, powerful corporate interests are threatening that model and driving up electricity bills with a reckless build-out of AI data centers. Our current leaders are letting it happen, risking long-term damage to our environment, our agricultural economy, and the livability of our communities – all for short-term profit.

That’s why Myrna is committed to strengthening transparency, community input, and environmental safeguards. Oregon can grow its economy while lowering costs and preserving the landscapes that define who we are.

  • Across the country we are witnessing a dangerous escalation of federal overreach, where families are torn apart by ICE and entire communities are forced to live in fear. Indiscriminate racial profiling and the targeting of immigrant communities undermine the fundamental civil liberties that define our democracy and protect us all.

Myrna believes our state has a responsibility to stand up for civil rights and protect our communities from abuses of power. In the legislature, she will fight for policies that strengthen due process, prevent racial profiling, and ensure local resources are focused on keeping our communities safe. No family should fear being separated because of the color of their skin, their accent, where they were born, or their identity.

  • Too many Oregonians are working harder than ever while struggling to afford the basics. Healthcare costs continue to rise, housing costs strain family budgets, and too many workers feel like the economy is leaving them behind.

Myrna believes our economy should work for the people who power it every day. That means:

    • Expanding access to healthcare and reducing prescription drug costs, so rural and underserved communities don’t get left behind.

    • Protecting workers’ rights so economic growth benefits families and small businesses rather than only the largest corporations.

    • Investing in affordable housing for our communities so Oregon can build a future where every family has the opportunity to thrive.
